This brand of optimistic, non-zero-sum entrepreneurship, even at a time in which it seems to be in short supply in the U.S. characterizes the CNUSA ethos. Perhaps this energy and these attitudes of mutual benefit will provide the contagion to inspire revival here.
I feel that foreign nationals – people that I see in Latin America, the Chinese and Asian communities, Czechs, Romanians, Israel, the Middle East, etc – still believe in the American dream, many times more than we Americans do.
A Latina friend and successful businesswoman in Tegucigalpa, Honduras remarked to me a couple of years ago when I marveled at the friendliness of her countrymen to me, a gringo or North Americano. She observed, “The U.S. has always represented ‘hope’ to my country.”
